Finding The Right Place To Move To

September 19, 2024 (4w ago)

Everyone with the ability to eventually change the location they live needs to decide
on a next place. Right now, the tools to do this are primitive, spread out, offer no
personalization, and a product of 2005-era software. People need an all-in-one location data
platform to explore the thousands of places, filter, analyze, compare, compute medians between
multiple loved ones, and generate optimized recommendations based on data.

urban studies theorist Richard Florida wrote, the place we choose to live “can determine the income we earn, the people we meet, the friends we make, the partners we choose and the options available to our children and families.”

“Americans are HALF as likely as a generation ago to move to another state”

Larry Summers: “Second, I think that we as a country have underinvested substantially in place-based policies. I think that we have red hot markets in some places — the places where you live and the places where I live. And we have rather stone cold markets in a variety of other places. And I don’t think we’ve applied enough imagination about how we could shift demand from the red hot places to the stone cold places. I think if we did that, we would do an enormous amount of good in the stone cold places. And I think we would also enable there to be more total demand with less total pressure on prices.”

“The single most important decision you make is where you live. It drives your business opportunities, relationships, food and water supply, politics, activities, and day-to-day quality of life.” - Naval
